What are trigger points?
Trigger points are hardened bundles of muscle fibres – and working on them calls for tools that reach exactly where the hands alone run out of room.
The trigger point tools of the Institut für Myologik are used in the institute's seminar and practice work and have been refined there over years: natural cork, robust rubber, wood – plus the large chart for the wall.
From the handy ball for your travel bag and the vibration ball with three intensity levels to the A0 poster set, you will find everything here for work on patients and for self-treatment. Each tool is made for a different situation; together they cover the whole range – from the foot to the neck, from the home office to the treatment room.
Which one suits you?
- Cork Trigger Ball Set – for starting out and almost every region of the body: Ø 5 cm for point work, Ø 10 cm for wider areas – under the feet, on back, calf, thigh and hip – both in a cotton bag and ready to travel.
- Vibration Massage Ball Electric Yoga – if you want to add vibration to pressure: three adjustable levels, rechargeable battery, auto shut-off after ten minutes.
- Wooden Trigger Stick – if you work on patients rather than on yourself: it reaches deep-lying points, for example in the neck, and you work with the stick instead of your fingertips.
- Trigger point posters A0 – set of 2 (840 × 1188 mm) – for training, practice and the treatment room: two posters showing points and referred pain zones region by region.
In short: balls work under your own body weight, the stick works guided by hand.
Combining them makes sense: a ball for self-treatment, the stick for treating others, the poster set as a reference on the wall. If you are unsure, begin with the cork set – it is the handy all-rounder of the category and can be complemented with the stick or the poster set at any time.
